We are pleased to announce our upcoming Virtual Exchange “Inclusive drought planning: From Guidelines to Action”- the third of the year – organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
This session will take place on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, from 14:00 to 15:30 CEST (12:00 – 13:30 UTC).
It will explore how Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) can be integrated into drought management and it will bring together experts, practitioners, and researchers to share knowledge, experiences, and practical solutions on the topic.
What to expect:
- You’ll hear from experts about recent developments and tools, jointly developed by IDMP and FAO, including practical guidelines and e-learning resources.
- You’ll engage in a panel discussion featuring national, international, and research perspectives on how GESI can be applied in real-world drought planning and management.
- You’ll learn from concrete case studies that showcase successful approaches to integrating GESI in drought management, highlighting lessons learned and community impacts.
The session is designed to provide actionable insights on making drought planning more inclusive, gender-responsive, and socially equitable, ultimately fostering resilience in communities most affected by drought.
Before the event, you are invited to join the discussion in the IDMP Community of Practice (CoP), where you can share questions, ideas, projects, and initiatives from your work in this field, as well as connect with peers around the world.
