Have you joined our online course on Drought Risk and Impact Assessment?
Following the success of the course, we are launching our first Learning Exchange to continue the conversation and take a closer look at the topics participants were most interested in exploring further, including:
- Drought impact monitoring and databases
- Community and citizen-based impact reporting
- Impact-based early warning systems
- Indicators and triggers for anticipatory action
- Using impact information to support better decisions
One of the course lecturers, Kelly Helm Smith (National Drought Mitigation Center, USA), will expand on key concepts from the course Module 5 – Drought impact monitoring, forecasting and assessment and address questions raised by participants.
We will also hear from Livia Labudová (Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute, Slovakia), who will share real-world experiences on how drought impact information and reporting networks are being used in practice to support drought monitoring, preparedness, and decision-making.
